Meet Mr. Lancerio:

Mr. Ebenezer Lancerio was born in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School in the Greater Chicagoland area, then attended Bradley University in Peoria,

Illinois. Beyond obtaining his degree in Secondary English Education, he managed student activity funds to bring musical acts to campus, served as philanthropy chair through his fraternity, and also founded the Bradley Running Braves run club.

After graduating from Bradley University in 2014, he joined Teach for America and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. He accepted his first teaching position as a Spanish teacher at Rocky River High in the Charlotte -Mecklenburg Schools district, where he was an assistant XC and Track coach. In 2017, he transferred to Myers Park High - the largest school in North Carolina - to teach Spanish in the International Baccalaureate program and lead the boy’s XC and Track teams. During his head coaching tenure there, he won the Conference Coach of the Year twice in a row while leading the boy's distance teams to 3 conference titles, 1 regional title, and 2 individual all-state finishes. During his time as a teacher, he worked through Teach for America to coach beginning teachers in their Spanish content area. He is currently licensed in three content areas - English-Language Arts, Spanish, and ESL.

In 2020, Mr. Lancerio felt a strong calling to pursue a career as a school administrator. He was 1 of 16 teachers in the state accepted into the NC Principal Fellows program, but instead opted to attend graduate school full-time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Lancerio obtained two masters degrees in School Administration and Educational Innovation, Technology,

and Entrepreneurship (MEITE), and worked at Teach for America to coordinate the Leroy “Pop” Miller Fellowship, a leadership pipeline for teachers in the Piedmont Triad area.

In 2021 he returned to Myers Park High School as a Dean of Students, where he managed student discipline, worked with school data, and supported multilingual families. He served as Dean for two years before being assigned to Central Wilkes Middle School as its current principal.

Mr. Lancerio recently married Jailen, a native of Wilkes County, in June of 2023. They plan to start a wonderful life together in the Wilkes area, where their family and church community reside. He is an avid runner, reader, and loves to travel. He enjoys warm summer days in his home in North Wilkesboro, where the sky is always Carolina Blue!

Meet Ms. McCathern:

Greetings Falcon Family! I am so excited to continue my journey as one-half of the dynamic Assistant Principal duo at Central Wilkes Middle School!  I am a Teaching Fellow graduate of Appalachian State University and hold Masters's Degrees in Special Education and School Leadership as a Principal Fellow from Western Carolina University. I am currently a RITASEE Scholar working on my doctorate at East Tennessee State University.

I am a mom with 3 beautiful children. Jaliyah is a senior at Western Carolina University. TJ attends Wilkes Community College and plans to transfer to a 4-year university. My baby girl Jayla is a sophomore at Wilkes Early College High School. I love to travel, see and photograph beautiful landscapes, try different foods, and learn about the history and culture of a region.

I am a big sports fan. I love to cheer for Lebron, Real Madrid (soccer), Tarheels basketball and football, the Braves, and whoever Dallas is playing on any given Sunday.

I am a dedicated educator who believes every single student can learn. I am an advocate for families and students who need extra support and my faith informs how I approach life, people, and all decisions. I am committed to growing and being better every single day.

I am passionate about my faith, education, social justice, politics, reading, and helping others. I look forward to meeting and learning from each and every one of you. Let's focus forward together!

Meet Ms. Floyd:

Greetings Falcon Family,

I am thrilled to be able to serve our community in this new capacity. I am always available to serve our students and staff to the best of my ability.  I attended Wilkes Community College and then transferred to Appalachian State University. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education.  I received my Master's Degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner Webb University.

I was blessed to teach with so many amazing educators at West Wilkes Middle School for almost 14 years. I briefly left Wilkes County Schools for an administrative position. When I returned this past school year, I became the Instructional Specialist at Central Wilkes Middle School.

As assistant principal, I am looking forward to working together with the incredible faculty and staff at Central Wilkes Middle School. Together, we serve our students, teachers, and families with integrity.  My door is always open. We are going to have an amazing year!
