Reading Counts Plan


We want every CWMS student to experience the joy and power of becoming a lifelong reader.

Our mission is to help our students become lifelong readers where they can successfully learn and navigate with the ability to read transform their lives and achieve amazing outcomes for their future. 

2020-2021 Reading Expectations:

  • All students will show a 20 point increase in their Lexile score each quarter on their Reading Inventory assessment for at least an 80 point increase for the entire school year.
  • All students will spend an average of 20 minutes per night reading independently with success.
  • All students will use the Reading Counts program to assess their independent reading success with the books they read to meet their grade level expectations each quarter.
  • As a school, achieve 333,333,333 words in Reading Counts for the 2021-2022 school year.
