CWMS Weekly Announcements 02/04/2024
Good evening, Falcon Family! This is Ebenezer Lancerio, principal of Central Wilkes Middle School, with announcements covering various school events.
1. Baseball / Softball Tryouts
Baseball and Softball open practice will be held after school on Monday, February 12th from 3:30-6:00, and tryouts will be held on Thursday, February 15th and Friday, February 16th from 3:30-6:00pm. Please note that Friday, February 16th is now an early release day, so your child has the option to return home and come back to school for tryouts, or to stay after school for tryouts. Family ID and a sports physical is required to try out. Good luck to all athletes trying out!
2. Track and Field Tryouts
Track and Field Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, February 17th and Wednesday, February 18th from 4:00-6:00pm. Family ID and a sports physical is required to try out. Good luck to all athletes trying out!
3. EF Tours
CWMS is going to Venice, the Alps, and Paris in the Summer of 2025 and you’re invited! Please check your emails or stop by the school to register for an informational session. There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity! Please note, this is not a Wilkes County or Central Wilkes Middle School sponsored trip; it is being organized by a teacher in partnership with EF Education First, an accredited organization. 4. CWMS Benevolent Fund
Families, please consider donating to our Central Wilkes Middle Benevolent Fund to help other families in need. These funds go directly to providing clothing, food, and school supplies for families in need. If you’d like more information, please reach out to Dr. Elizabeth Coleman or Ms. Ashley Dyer for more information on how you can be involved.
5. Sign Language Club
Students who are interested in learning sign language can participate in an after school club on Mondays from 3:45pm to 4:30pm. Any student that’s committing to stay after school must bring a signed note from a parent and turn it into Ms. Carla Bates in the front office. See you there!
6. Valentine’s Day Dance
CWMS will be hosting a Valentine’s Dance for all CMWS students this Friday, February 9th from 3:45pm-5:30pm. Students must have a signed permission slip and they must have paid $5 to attend the dance. We will presale tickets for $5 until Thursday, February 8th @ 8am - all forms and money must be turned in by then. Tickets WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. Please see your HR teacher for a permission slip. Concessions will be sold. Come join us for an afternoon of fun!
7. PTSO Meeting
Please join us for our next PTSO meeting tomorrow, February 5th at 4:15pm in the Media Center. We will be covering ways to volunteer, and our next fundraisers. As a reminder, PTSO meetings are held on the first Mondays of every month in the media center. See you there!
8. Report Cards
Parents, report cards were sent out at the end of the first semester. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s report card, I encourage you to reach out to their teachers or to an administrator. Progress reports will be released on Wednesday, February 21st.

Anuncios semanales de CWMS 02/04/2024
¡Buenas tardes familia Falcón! Soy Ebenezer Lancerio, director de Central Wilkes Middle School, con sus anuncios semanales cubriendo eventos.
1. Pruebas de béisbol/sóftbol
La práctica abierta de béisbol y sóftbol se llevará a cabo después de clases el lunes, el 12 de febrero de 3:30 a 6:00, y las pruebas se llevarán a cabo el jueves, el 15 de febrero y viernes, el 16 de febrero de 3:30 a 6:00 p.m. Ese viernes, el 16 de febrero es ahora un día de salida temprana, por lo que su hijo tiene la opción de regresar a casa y regresar a la escuela para las pruebas, o quedarse después de la escuela para las pruebas. Se requiere FAMILY ID y un examen físico deportivo para realizar la prueba. ¡Buena suerte a todos los atletas que lo intentan!

6. Baile de San Valentín
CWMS organizará un baile de San Valentín para todos los estudiantes de CMWS el viernes, el 9 de febrero de 3:45 p. m. a 5:30 p. m. Los estudiantes deben tener un permiso firmado y deben haber pagado $5 para asistir al baile. Venderemos boletos por $5 hasta el jueves 8 de febrero a las 8 a. m. Todos los formularios y el dinero deben entregarse para entonces. LAS ENTRADAS NO SE VENDERÁN EN PUERTA. Consulte a su maestro de homeroom para obtener un formulario de permiso. Se venderán las concesiones. Los estudiantes deberán ser recogidos en su respectiva fila de autos después del baile. ¡Únase a nosotros para una tarde de diversión!
7. Reunión de la PTSO
Únase con nosotros para nuestra próxima reunión de PTSO mañana, 5 de febrero a las 4:15 p.m. en el Centro de Medios. Cubriremos formas de ser voluntario y nuestros próximos eventos para recaudar fondos. Como recordatorio, las reuniones de la PTSO se llevan a cabo los primeros lunes de cada mes en el centro de prensa. ¡Te veo allí!
8. Boletas de calificaciones
Padres, las boletas de calificaciones se enviaron al final del primer semestre. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud sobre la boleta de calificaciones, le recomiendo que se comunique con sus maestros o con un administrador. Los informes de progreso se publicarán el miércoles, el 21 de febrero.
