Drone piloting is an emerging and rapidly growing job market with many unique opportunities. As a drone pilot, you can work in a variety of industries including mapping, real estate, construction, photography, film production, military and many, many more!

What is Drone Camp?
Summer Drone Camp is a FREE summer program hosted by Wilkes County Schools available to interested
rising 9th-grade students.. At Drone Camp, students will learn safety, rules and regulations, and the skills
necessary to successfully pilot a drone. Additionally, students will go on flight-inspired field trips, hear from guest
speakers, and participate in fun and engaging drone flying activities!
 
FAQs
Is food provided?  Yes! Breakfast and lunch are served to all camp participants free of charge.
 
Is transportation provided?  No. Students participating in Drone Camp must arrange their own transportation to and from camp.
 
Is a flight certification required?  No. Students will be allowed to fly drones under the instructor’s license.
 
Which Drone Camp Should I register for? Students must register for the school in which they attend.
 
Are there any fees? No. Eligible students can attend Drone Camp free of charge!

When?  July 22nd-25th 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
 
Where? Participating Schools: East Wilkes High, West Wilkes High, North Wilkes High, Central Wilkes High

Who? Rising 9th-grade students in Wilkes County are eligible to register their district’s Drone Camp. Maximum limit of 20 participants per school. Registration is first-come, first-served. Additional registrants will be placed on a wait-list.
