CWMS Announcements 03/16/2025
Good evening, Falcon Family. This is Ebenezer Lancerio, principal of Central Wilkes Middle School, with announcements covering various school events.

1. NASCAR STEAM EXPO (7/8 Grade) *NEW*
7th and 8th grade students will be going to the NASCAR STEAM Expo at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway this Wednesday, March 19th! Here are some final reminders about the field trip for your child.

Students will either receive their lunch at their home school before departing. Vendors on-site will offer food items for sale. Students are encouraged to bring small bills for purchases as change will be limited.
Dress for the Weather. It will be in the low 70’s when we arrive at the event.
Wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking and standing while exploring.

2. 2025-2026 Student Registration
Your child will receive an HPEX catalog to take home with them. In this catalog you will find the different electives that your child can take next school year. These include classes in the arts, music, computers, technology, and fitness. Please return these forms to your child’s homeroom teacher by this Friday, March 21st.

3. All County Choir Rehearsal and Concert (8th Grade) *NEW*
Select 8th grade students will be participating in the all-county choir rehearsal during school hours on Tuesday and then participate in the concert on Tuesday, March 18th between 7 and 8pm.

4. Color Guard Tryouts *NEW*
For 7th and 8th grade students interested in joining color guard with the marching band, practices will be held March 19th, April 2nd, and April 9th at Wilkes Central High School between 4pm and 6pm. Students may ride the bus over there and parents must pick them up at WCHS. If families or students have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Simmons, band director of the Central district.

5. Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our Central Wilkes Middle School teachers will be inviting some families for parent-teacher conferences between March 24th and March 28th. If you would like to be included in these parent-teacher conferences, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher to schedule an appointment. You can always email the homeroom teacher or an administrator to schedule a conference pertaining to your child’s progress at school.

¡Buenas tardes! Soy Ebenezer Lancerio, director de la Escuela Central Wilkes Middle, con los anuncios semanales que cubren varios eventos escolares.

1. EXPO STEAM DE NASCAR (7/8 grado) *NUEVO*
¡Los estudiantes de 7.º y 8.º grado asistirán a la Expo STEAM DE NASCAR en el histórico North Wilkesboro Speedway este miércoles 19 de marzo! Aquí les dejamos algunos recordatorios finales sobre la excursión para su hijo/a.
Los estudiantes recibirán su almuerzo en su escuela de origen antes de partir. Los vendedores del lugar ofrecerán alimentos. Se recomienda traer billetes pequeños para las compras, ya que el cambio será limitado.
Vístase de acuerdo al clima. La temperatura rondará los 21 °C al llegar al evento.
Use zapatos cómodos, ya que caminarán y estarán de pie durante mucho tiempo mientras exploran.

2. Inscripción de Estudiantes 2025-2026
Su hijo/a recibirá un catálogo de HPEX para llevar a casa. En este catálogo encontrará las diferentes asignaturas optativas que su hijo/a puede tomar el próximo año escolar. Estas incluyen clases de arte, música, informática, tecnología y acondicionamiento físico. Por favor, devuelva estos formularios al maestro de su hijo/a antes de este viernes 21 de marzo.

3. Ensayo y concierto del coro del condado (8 grado) *NUEVO*
Algunos alumnos de 8.º grado participarán en el ensayo del coro del condado durante el horario escolar el martes y luego en el concierto el martes 18 de marzo, de 7 a 8pm.

4. Pruebas para la escolta de color *NUEVO*
Para los alumnos de 7.º y 8.º grado interesados ​​en unirse a la escolta de color con la banda de música, los ensayos se llevarán a cabo el 19 de marzo, el 2 y el 9 de abril en la escuela preparatoria Wilkes Central, de 16:00 a 18:00 h. Los alumnos pueden viajar en autobús hasta allí y los padres deben recogerlos en WCHS. 5. Conferencias de padres y maestros
Nuestros maestros de Central Wilkes Middle School invitarán a algunas familias a conferencias de padres y maestros entre el 24 y el 28 de marzo. Si desea ser incluido en estas conferencias de padres y maestros, comuníquese con el maestro de aula de su hijo para programar una cita. Siempre puede enviar un correo electrónico al maestro del aula o a un administrador para programar una conferencia relacionada con el progreso de su hijo en la escuela.
