Good afternoon, Falcon Family. This is Ebenezer Lancerio, the proud principal of Central Wilkes Middle School, with announcements covering various school events.
EOG Dates/Schedules
The end of the year is quickly approaching and with that, the End-of-Grade exams in reading, math, and 8th grade Science. We will be on a three-hour testing schedule starting this Thursday, May 21st and concluding on June 4th, which is the last day of the school year. School will start at the regular time, but testing will take place between 8am and 11am daily. See below for our testing schedule:
Thursday, 5/21 - Reading EOG
Friday, 5/22 - Science EOG
Wednesday, 5/27 - Math EOG
5/28-6/2 - Make Up Exams
This year, all students will have the opportunity to retest if they do not pass their end of grade exam on their first attempt. In order to do this, all parents/guardians must turn in an opt-in form to give their student the opportunity to retake the test. Please turn these forms in before Thursday, 5/21. If you did not receive one, you can message your child’s homeroom teacher or the front office for more information.
No School on Monday, 5/25 - New
There will be no school on Monday, 5/25 in observance of Memorial Day Weekend. CWMS honors and recognizes all of the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces.
End-Of-Year Awards Night
The End of Year Awards Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st starting at 6pm.
End-Of-Year Athletic Banquet
The End of Year Athletic Banquet is this Tuesday, May 19th at 6pm at the Stone Center. Athletes eat for free. Tickets for adults are $12 and include admission and a plate. Tickets and admission for children are $7. The form and money were due by last Friday. No forms will be accepted anymore.
MORP Ticket Sales - New
Sales for the 8th Grade MORP dance end this Wednesday, May 20th. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Students must turn in a waiver and $10 to receive a ticket. Your 8th grade student can receive a form from their HR teacher or from Ms. House, and can be turned in to the office or to Ms. House. Below are the details for MORP.

*Students MUST attend CWMS and be in 8th Grade ONLY to attend. We will not allow students from other grades or schools in.
MESH Clinic at CWMS
Attention families! There will be FREE Sports physicals later this month. CWMS Sports Physicals will be tomorrow, May 18th from 9-3. Students must have all paperwork completed by parents and bring $20 cash or check written to Wilkes County Health Department. Forms are in the CWMS front office for those who are interested. Forms should be filled out by parents prior to the date. If you have any questions please call MESH phone. 336-957-7043.
