Fall Makeup Picture Day *Update*
If your child missed their opportunity to take their pictures during fall picture day, Carolina photography will be at Central Wilkes Middle School on November 12th starting at 7:30am for makeup fall picture day. There is online prepay ordering available for makeup days. Online Prepay for Fall make up pictures is also available at www.carolinaphoto.net by entering Job Key TW7PQJZP. Families can also purchase using the order forms they received at the original picture day.
CWMS Spelling Bee *New*
We are thrilled to announce that our Spelling Bee will be taking place from this Tuesday to December 6th. Students in each English Language Arts class will compete this week for a chance to be the Grade Level Bee champion. On December 6th, 3 Grade Level Bee champions will compete for the Central Wilkes Middle School Spelling Bee champion title. This champion will have the opportunity to represent the school at the Wilkes County Schools Spelling Bee competition, Parents_you can_prepare_your students by_practicing these words on this link at home. WCS Art Showcase - 11/14/2024 *New
Central Wilkes Middle School is proud to represent at this year's Wilkes County School's Art Showcase at the Stone Center between 4-6pm. This event will highlight the incredible talent of our students and provide them an opportunity to showcase their creativity and hard work. we hope to see you there!
EC Department Vendor Fair: 11/16 9-1pm *New* The Falcon Vendor Fair is Saturday, November 16, 2024 in the Central Wilkes Middle School Cafeteria from 9am to 1pm. We have a variety of vendors available for your Christmas shopping. RaceDogs food truck will be set up outside to serve food. The EC department will be selling hot chocolate, coffee, and drinks. We will also have light snacks.
WCS Science Fair on 12/5 *New*
The Wilkes County Schools' Science Fair is quickly approaching. This is a reminder that the Science Fair projects for all AIG students are due on Tuesday, November 12th. Your child is considered AIG if they are in an advanced Science or English class. You can check this information in PowerSchool

YMCA ACCESS Tutoring Program
Does your child need help in their classes? YMCA Access Academy, a FREE tutoring program, is partnering with CWMS to help! We will have some of our own certified teachers providing tutoring instruction. Sign up forms are available at the school.
Car Line Reminders
For 7th and 8th grade families who pick up their child in the afternoon car line - be sure to pull up to all available spaces in order to keep traffic moving. Also, this is a reminder to all 6th grade carline drivers that the first lane is reserved for buses, and the second lane in the parking lot is reserved for all cars. When you arrive, please drive down the second lane in the car line, and not the first lane.
Attendance Leads to Success - Fly Like A Falcon
As we continue to soar into the year, we want to emphasize the importance of your child's regular attendance. When your child attends school regularly, they can build stronger and more consistent friendships, engage in continuous learning, and build positive habits. We understand that illnesses and emergencies happen. However, when possible, we encourage you to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours.
Check PowerSchool Grades
Parents, please make sure that you're periodically checking your child's PowerSchool grades as we approach the end of the first quarter on October 23rd. If you have a question about how to access your child's grades, please stop by the main office so we can assist you.
